Ivanovich Agusta

Abstract

In Indonesia, social sciences moves side by side with people transformations, which is especially affected by development programs. Participatory methodology may relate both of the theoretical and practical aspects. It is not a singular paradigm. I found four paradigms, which are epistemologically different. They are realism-participation, subjectivism- participation, pragmatism-participation, and marxism-participation. Methodologically, the last paradigm gives more opportunities for transforming the lowest people.

Key words: realism, subjectivism, pragmatism, marxism, paradigm
